The present limit of vetting other agencies' estimates and accepting tenders on the part of the S. Es. standing on upto Rs. 15,00,000/- is enhanced to Rs. 20,00,000/-
Modification No. 4 :
The Tender Committees are to evaluate tenders in respect of any work which is estimated to cost more than Rs. 20,00,000/- or the cost of which exceeds the estimated amount by more than 5% (five percent). The previous threshold was Rs. 15,00,000/-
2. This order issues with the concurrence of the Fin. (Adt.) Deptt. vide their Under Order No. 124 Gr. 'T' dt. 10.6.94 and comes into force with immediate effect
3. The office of the A.G., West Bengal and Finance Deptt. of this Govt. are accordingly being informed.

MEMORANDUM
The undersigned is directed to say that three production centres, one at Uttarpara, one at Habra and another at Titagarh have been working for over 40 years employing at present about 350 workers under the control of the R. R. Commissioner under the R. R. & R. Deptt. The workers employed, in the said production centres are displaced persons and most of them are women. The said working force are employed on piece rate basis.
2 The production centres have been mainly producing garments of various kinds and sarees, dhoties and a variety of few other items. Government Deptts.iDirectorates and offices have been extending support in their favour in the shape of obtaining supply of major portion of their products without tender/quotation There is also another production centre viz. Kamarhati Bamboo Processing Centre which produces brooms and as reported by the R. R. & R. Deptt. the brooms produced by it can be used by Hospitals, Corporations, Municipalities, etc. But due to non-inclusion of their names to Annexure A III of Rules 47B of W. B. FR Vol.-I, Government Offices are no longer extending such support.
3. After careful consideration of the issue the Governor has been pleased to order that all Govt. Deptts/Offices may henceforth make purchases of the products of
