(iii) In the Urban Government Spomsored Colonies, homestead land upto 5 (five) Kathas was being granted on Free Hold basis to eligible Squatter families. Subsequently a Government Order was issued that in urban areas homestead land may be allotted in Govt. Sponsored Colonies but the area of land allotted should not exceed 11/2 kathas.
(iv) Title Deeds are given Free of cost only to bonafide refugees, in case the original allottees or the Squatters are dead where the title deeds could not be given at that time, the deed may be given to their heirs.
This modifies this Department Orders No. 3919 (17)-Rehab/7L-10/88 dated 13.7.88 and No. 1424 (30)- Rehab/18R-2/90 dated, 16.4.90.
3. Homestead plots in areas Covered by camps/Hpmes /Tenement Scheme : There are 7(seven) Homes under the RR & R Directorate. It has been decided to close the homes and rehabilitate inmates refugee families who are bonafide refugee and otherwise eligible by grant of land with or without structures depending upon the condition of the structures. In Urban areas it is decided to give upto 11/2 kathas of land per family with or without structures. In rural areas ( outside Municipal areas) a larger area of Land upto 5 (five) Kathas may be given subject to availability. The conditions of eligibility for grant of such lands are determined by the Department.
4 .Other Schemes :
Tank Fisheries may be leased out in accordance with the provisions of this Department Order No. 2490(17)-Rehab/6L-77/76 dated 10.7.87 subject to the condition that the lease rent for the Fishery will be fixed in accordance with the procedure laid down in the West Bengal Land and Land Reforms manual. This modifies this Department's Order No. 2490(17)-Rehab dated 10.7.87.
