Sub : Sanction for wnting off of outstanding balance as on 31-3-85 against
pre-1974 loans (Consolidated Rehabilitation loan) of all categories
i.e.loans advanced to the displaced persons from former East
Pakistan (Now Bangladesh Straight loans and other relending loans).

 

The undersigned is directed by order of the Governor to say that the Governor. in pursuance of the Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Deptt. of internal Security \(Rehabn. Division) letter No. G28021/2/84-Bud dt. 13-5-85 and No. G-28021/2/84-Bud/Vol-I dt. 31-3-86, has been pleased to write off Rs. 33,40,000,00.00 (Reupees thirtythree crores forty lakhs only) out of the outstanding balance as on 31.-3-85 against pre- 1974 loans (consolidated rehabilitation loans) i. e. loans advanced to the displaced persons from East Pakistan (Now Bangladesh)/migrants/repatnates for their rehabilitation in West Bengal as well as straight loans and other relending loans

2. The Governor has been further pleased to waive the recovery of interest and penal interest, if any, outstanding on the loans written off.

3. The charge is debitable to the head "288-Social Security and Welfare-B-Relief and Rehabilitation of displaced persons and Repatriates-V-other Relief measures-Non Plan-(1) irrecoverable loans to displaced persons written off" in the budget for current financial year and subsequent financial years. 4. The District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate/Sub-divisional Officers and Deputy Controller (R. R.) Calcutta are hereby authorised to issue necessary sanction order for writing off the loan outstanding against the individual loanees top priority basis.

5. The undersigned is further directed to say that copies of orders sanctioning write off of loans in respect of individual loanees should be sent to the Accountant General, West Bengal for necessary Adjustment in the State Books.

6. The District Officers are requested to furnish within a fortnight of the close of every month the monthly statements showing the actual amounts written off with all necessary details.

7. The Accountant General, West Bengal and the pay & Accounts Officer, Calcutta have been informed.

8. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide their U. 0. No. 45 F. A. dated '27-5-86
