varying from 2(two) to 4(four) kathas urban Govt. sponsored (G.S.) colonies. depending on. besides other criteria. the age of the colony, demand in the locality for such lane and lay-out-plan (L.O.P.) prepared for the colony area.
2. In the general scheme for allotment of R.R.& R. Deptt. land to various Institutions /organisations serving the refugee families and to landless refugee families, the upper ceiling area for homestead land in urban G.S. Colonies was fixed at one katha and a half. vide G.O.No.55-Rehab/RR/O/SOC-Dev-13/93—A(Pt.1). dt.8.1.98.
3. However, while implementing the scheme for rehabilitation of refugee familes, practical problems are being experienced. particularly where L. 0. P.s have already been prepared and implemented in vans colonies recognised upto the 1970's. This has necessitated in vans colonies recognised upto the 1970's. This has necessitated revies entire issue.
4. After careful consideration of all related aspects. it has how been decided by the Govt. that in partial modification of the general scheme referred to in para 2 above homestead land of area one Katha and half or more. Subject to a maximum of two Kathas may be allotted in favour of an eligible refugee families in an urban G. S Colony.
5. In doing so, the utmost care shall be taken to cause the least disturbance of the existing accepted lay-out-plan for the colony. Bifurcation of a plot shall be made only in unavoidable circumstances and in such a manner so as to leave no fragment of the plot unallotted in order to avoid future encroachment and litigation.
6. Other terms and conditions of the said general scheme as enjoined in G.0..55-Rehab dt.8.1.98 shall remain unchanged.
7. This amended order takes immediate effect.
