Sub : "Permissive possession" of KhasNested lands for regularisationof 0. P. Colonies/Squatters Colonies.
The undersigned is directed to invite his attention to this Department's G.O. No. 582 (15)-L. Ref., dated 20.5.86 wherein instructions were issued to the effect that Khas/Vested lands as well as surplus acquired lands relinquished in favour of this Department which were required by the R.R. & R. Department for settlement of refugees from erstwhile East Pakistan and are available for the said purpose are to be transferred to the R. R. & R. Department free of cost/charges.
Since the procedural formalities for effecting formal transfer of Khas/Vested lands to the R. R. & R. Department will take sometime, it has been decided by the Government that "Permissive Possession" of such Khas/Vested lands should meanwhile be given to the R. R. & R. Department by the A.D.M. (L.R.) concerned pending completion of formalities of transfer so that the R. R. & R. Department can take immediate steps for regularisation of D.P. Colonies/Squatters' Colonies. He is accordingly requested that immediately on receipt of a proposal in this regard from the A.D.M. (RR)/S.D.O. (RR) concerned, he will give "permissive possession" of Khas/Vested lands in respect of approved co!onies of D.P. families in favour of the R. R. & R. Department after being satisfied that these are Khas/Vested lands and have not been otherwise allotted and are not also already due to be so allotted.
