To : The R. R. & R. Department of this Government.

 

Sub : "Permissive Possession" of surplus acquired lands in favourof Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Deptt.—regularisation of D. P. Colonies/Squatters' Colonies.

 

The undersigned is directed to invite their attention to this Deptt.'s G.O. No. 582 (15)-L. Ref., dated 20th May. 1986 to the effect the Khas/Vested lands as well as surplus acquired lands relinquished in favour of this Deptt. which are required by the Refugee Relief & Rehabilitation Department for settlement of refugees from erstwhile East Pakistan and are available for the said purpose are to be transferred to the Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Deptt. free of cost/charges as per Cabinet decision in the matter.

Now, since the procedural formalities for effecting formal transfer of the surplus acquired lands squatted upon by D.P./Squatters' families in 607 Group of post '50 Squarrers'Colonies and also 175 Group of post-50 Colonies will take sometime, the unders igned is directed to request the concerned Department that permissive possession in respectof the subject lands of the concerned Department may in the meantime be delivered to the Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department pending completion of formalities of transfer immediately on receipt of necessary proposals from the Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department so that the Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department can take immediate steps for regularisation of D.P./Squatters' Colonies.

Necessary steps for formal transfer of the subject lands may be completed by the concorned Deptts. as early as possible thereafter in consultation with the respective Collectors.

Sub : Empowering the Collectors/Additional Collectors and Sub-,divisional Officers to Approve the site plans in respect of lands of the newly approved Post-150 Squatters' Colonies.

 

In continuation to this Department's Govt. Order No. 1533-Rehab. dated 16.5.87, the undersigned is directed by order of the Governor to say that the Govt. in the R.R. & R. Department do hereby empower all the concerned Collectors/Additional Collectors and Sub-divisional Officers to approve the site plans to be submitted to them
