Sub- Administrative Approval of Initialing acquisition proceedings under the provisions of west Bengal land (Requisition & Acquisition) Act. 1948, i.e. Act ll of 1948
The Govt. of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs Department of Internal Security (Rehabilitation Division) in terms of their letter No. 26 (6)-83-RR (Vol. 1),dated 27.2.87, approved regularization of 607 Post –’50 Squatters’ Colonies in different districts of the state of West Bengal and have prescribed a lime limit of ( three) years’ for completion of acquisition proceeding in respect of lands in occupation of the squatting displaced families of the colonies.
The undersigned is directed by order or the Governor to say that the Govt. in the R. R. & R. Department do hereby accord administrative approval towards initiation of acquisition proceedings in respect of lands in the colonies of this district (list enclosed) under the provisions of West Bengal Land (Requisition and Acquisition) Act, 1948, i.e., Act ll of 1948.
He is hereby authorized Under Section 3(1A) of the said Act to exercise power of requisitioning the land in each of the listed Colonies and immediately after serving requisition order Under Section 3(A) shall take possession of the land in question and proceed as per Section 8B of the said Act. He will Thereafter go ahead with the acquisition proceedings in respect of such requisitioned lands in accordance with the relevant provisions of the said Act.
This order issues with the concurrence of the Land & Land Reform Department vide their notes dated 13.5.87.
