Sir,
Enclosed please find herewith an approved Site Plan in tracing cloth and 3 (three) printed copies (total four) and plot schedule in duplicate for Requisition and Acquisition of land for the purpose of regularisation of................ Squatters' Colony. This colony has been approved for regularisation by the Government of India and the Govt. of West Bengal(Vide SL. No...................in the list sent to you under RefugeeRelief & Rehabilitation Department's Memo 1533 Rehab. dt 16/5/87). The land will be utilised for the purpose of rehabilitation of refugee families who have migrated to India from former East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, for reasons beyond their control. The land in question may be taken possession of on requisition under Section 3 (1) of the West Bengal Act II of 1948 under the specific purpose for creating better living condition by way of construction or reconstruction of dwelling places and for purposes connected therewith with a view to providing rehabilitation of refugees from East Pakistan, now Bangladesh.
The land proposed to be acquired has been declared outside the purview of Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act, 1976. Vide Refugee Relief & RehabilitationDepartment's Memo No.1233-Rehab. dated 1.4.86. Necessary Budget Provision to meet80% on account payment has also been provided for the proposed acquistion.
The Land and Land Reforms Department's views in the proposed requisition and acquisition of land under Act II for the above mentioned purpose has been obtained and they have no objection to the same being done if the land is not used for any charitable and educational Institutions.
