With reference to the correspondence resting with State Govt's letter No 16282-REHAB. dated the 20th November. 1956 on the subject noted above. I am directed to say that the rates proposed by the State Govt. for recovering the State Departmental charges in the acquisition of land for the rehabilitation of displaced persons from East Pakistan are acceptable to the Government of India. The rates will be:

The rates will be:
(a)In the case of compulsoryacquisition
-5% of the amount of compensation.
(b)In the case of acquisition-by negotiation at a rate of cost approved by the Government of India.
-3% of the amount of compensation subject to a maximum of Rs. in any individual case. 50,000/-
