Sub : Allotment of R. R. & R. Department land for schools, colleges,
clubs, libraries, hospitals, working girls, hostels, parks, markets etc.

It is considered that (a) setting up of educational institutions like schools and colleges, cultural institutions like clubs and libraries, philanthropic institutions like hospitals and working girls, hostels and (b) undertaking of development works for creating better living conditions such as of children’s parks, and markets, is part of this Department programme for implementing schemes for rehabilitation of displaced persons from the erstwhile East Pakistan, now Bangladesh. As such lands acquired by this Department under the land Development & Planning Act of 1948 and the land Acquisition Act of 1894 may be allotted for above mentioned purposes to Institutions capable of implementing such schemes.
2. Such allotment will be on lease hold basis on a token premium of Re. 1/- per year and normally for a period of thirty years with prior right of renewal for the same period. In special cases and when the continued existence of the allottee institution is beyond scope of any reasonable doubt, lease for a longer period, upto 99 years, may be granted.
3. The lease deed for such allotments will be prepared on the basis of the model deed as approved by the learned Advocate on Record. If necessary, in special cases, modifications may be made with the prior approval of the Department.
