57 (1) Subject in the previous payment of the fees payable in that behalf. the BookNos.1and 2 and the indexes relating to Book No. 1 shall be at all times open to inspection by any person applying to inspect the same; and, subject to the provisions of Section 62, copies of entries in such books shall be given to all persons applying for such copies.
(2) Subject to the same provisions, copies of entries in Book No. 3 and in the index relating thereto shall be given to the persons executing the documents to which such entries relate, or to their agents and after the death of the executant (but not before) to any person applying for such copies.
(3) Subject to the same provisions. copies of entries in Book No. 4 and in the index relating thereto shall be given to any person executing or claiming under the documents to which such entries respectively refer, or to his agent or representative.
(4) The requisite search under this section for entries in Book Nos.3 and4shall be made only by the registering officer.
(5) All copies given under this section shall be signed and sealed by the registering officer, and shall be admissible for the purpose of proving the contents of theoriginal documents. See Rules 109 and 100. part-II of the Manual, and exemption (6) in the Table of Fees. Part III of the Manual.
Under Clause(1) of section 57. Book 1 and 2 and the indexes relating to Book 1 only are open to public inspection subject to the previous payment of fees payable in that behalf.
Under clause (2), copies of entries in Book 3 and in the index relating thereto can be given only to the executant or his agent during the life time of the executant and after his death to any person applying for such copies, but the search for entries in Book 3 (and also in Index Ill) shall be made only by the registering officer. as provided in clause(4).
The provisions of clause (5) should be carefully followed.
All copies given under section 57 shall be signed and sealed by the registering officer. from whose office the copy is issued.
There is no provision for granting copies of entries in Book 5 (register of deposits of wills).
The "agent" in section 57 is an agent within the meaning of the term in themContract Act and not an agent as contemplated insection 33.

109. (1) An application to make a search of index or to inspect any entry in aregister book shall be in Form No. 36 in Appendix 1
